Zeinab speeds through the hustle and bustle of Beirut on her scooter, busy with her work assessing small loan applications filed by immigrants. As a woman living in a conservative patriarchal society, she faces plenty of challenges in her search for independence.

Director's Profile
Dima El-Horr studied film in the United States and France. She now lives moving between Paris and Beirut, and teaches film at the Lebanese American University.

Director's Note
For over a year, I followed Zeinab in her professional, family and loving life, with a main question in mind: How to be, in Lebanon today, a Muslim Shi'a veiled young woman who stubbornly seeks her individuality in a deeply patriarchal and communitarian society.Between tradition and modernity, religious beliefs and freedom of thought between emancipation and submissiveness that Zeinab, skillfully plays with social and religious codes and demonstrates all her singularity and her contradictions.
