Synopsis
Once a luxury hotel decades ago in France's Toulouse, Hotel Regina has lost its glamour and is now a residence for its low income tenants. The landlord is an obliging elderly lady, catering to her tenants' needs while running this hotel she inherited from her family. Despite her best efforts, she cannot stop the advances of urban renewal that comes with every passing year.

Director's Profile
Matthias Berger studied ethnography, and had started making documentary before he entered ENSAV (Graduate School of Audiovisual Arts) in Toulouse, France. He now creates documentaries along with his main job as a sound operator.

Director's Note
For a few years now, the city of Toulouse has been animated by the ambition to become a "European metropolis". In this context, i was the spectator of this transformation. This film meets two characters: a former luxury hotel and one old woman. Both of them take part of the story of one of the popular doors into Toulouse: the train station district. This timeless world is gradually disappearing. I filmed this process as the end of one myth devoured by another.
