Documentary Distribution (For institution only)In recent years, there has been a great surge in the production of Chinese documentary films. Some of these films are remarkable works of art. They are touching, inspiring and always socially relevant. However, the chance to see these films is rare and difficult. Therefore, Visible Record, as an organization promoting documentary films, is to build a DVD distribution network of the latest and finest Chinese documentary films. The first series includes 36 films from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. They cover a wide range of subject matters, such as, contemporary Chinese history, education, legal system, medical, environmental protection, politics, human rights, gender, poverty and culture. These DVDs are mainly for institutions. In purchasing these films, institution will receive an “Educational License” which allows the institution to use them for teaching and research purposes. |
Chinese Documentary FestivalSince about a decade ago, documentary film production around the world has entered a new exciting phase: a large number of excellent and innovative works are being produced and as a result, documentaries have enjoyed greater popularity and now exert significant influence. (Example: An Inconvenient Truth) During the same time, filmmakers in different Chinese communities in Asia have also been very productive and adventurous. Each year, there are hundreds of works being made. Many are highly interesting. Some are remarkable works of art. However, the chance for the general public to see and discuss them is rare. The Chinese Documentary Festival is a unique cultural event showcasing outstanding Chinese documentary films and giving special recognition to talented Chinese documentary filmmakers whose works focus on China and the Chinese diaspora. |
